Actively seeking candidates for a Nurse Manager (RN) - Emergency Services position to join our nursing leadership team at University of Maryland, Capital Region Medical Center.

Located in Largo in the heart of Prince George's County, our new state-of-the-art regional medical center (UM Capital Region Medical Center) will provide improved access to primary and ambulatory care services, and serve as a tertiary care center for critically ill patients. In addition, our new space will allow us to expand our offerings as a community partner to help improve the health status of Prince George's County residents.

Emergency Services at UM Capital Region Health

Our emergency services team's partnership with University of Maryland School of Medicine means we're developing new ways to diagnose conditions more quickly and use the latest research to provide better care and shorten hospital stays in emergency services.

UM Capital offers adult and pediatric emergency care in three locations:
Our team works with doctors in all medical specialties throughout University of Maryland Capital Region Health and the surrounding area to give you complete care.

Emergency Departments at UM Capital

UM Capital offers 24/7 emergency services with board-certified doctors, nurses and technicians who have received advanced training in emergency care. They treat a wide array of serious illness and injuries. These may include:
  • Allergic reactions
  • Breathing problems
  • Heart problems (including chest or arm pain)
  • Stroke
  • Loss of consciousness, seizure or severe dizziness
  • Stomach or chest pain
  • Infant Illness
  • Poisoning or drug overdose
  • Severe burns, cuts, punctures, bites
  • Child, spouse or elder abuse
  • Mental health problems, such as hallucinations, or suicide threats and attempts
  • Rape, assault or other injury sustained during a violent crime
Job Summary
The Nurse Manager is responsible for directing, supervising and coordinating patient care activities and nursing services of a nursing unit on a 24 hour basis. Monitor and assures proper patient care delivery in accordance with quality standards. Oversees and assigns patient care duties to nursing unit professional and support staff in order to maximize utilization of their time and abilities.

  • Nurse Management experince strongly preferred

What You Need to Be Successful:

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current RN license in Maryland or a compact state.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing
  • Masters of Science in Nursing, preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressive experience in Nursing Management.
  • BLS certification
  • Emergency Services experience strongly preferred
  • Nurse Management experince strongly preferred
