The Critical Care Resuscitation Unit (CCRU) at the University of Maryland Medical Center R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center is a one of a kind unit which specializes in resuscitation of the adult critically-ill, non-trauma patient being transferred from outside facilities for tertiary care. Using a collaborative team approach, this unit facilitates rapid access to a wide range of services such as neurology, stroke neurology, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, cardiology, acute care emergency surgery, vascular, soft tissue, and transplant.

As a nurse in the CCRU, you will provide care to critically ill, non-trauma, medical and surgical patients who need immediate resuscitation and stabilization. Patients commonly seen but are not limited to neurological, surgical, medical and/or cardiac emergencies, aortic dissection, septic shock and multi-system organ failure.
