At one of the highest-volume trauma centers in the United States, the 13-bay Trauma Resuscitation Unit is staffed with a multidisciplinary team ready to admit, resuscitate, stabilize and treat those whose lives are threatened by time-sensitive injury, including: acute complex orthopaedic injury, spinal injuries, brain injury, facial trauma, multiple organ dysfunction, respiratory failure, soft-tissue infection and sepsis. The nursing staff maintains the highest level of critical care and resuscitation knowledge and skills, often exceeding the national average for certification. They work collaboratively with a unified approach toward the care of the patient
The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland is seeking experienced Registered Nurses with a desire to join our premier multidisciplinary team in our Trauma Resuscitation Unit. Located at the University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore near the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards - you won't find a more rich and stimulating place to work!
What You Need to Be Successful:
-RN with a minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, invasive monitoring required
-Preferred candidates will have: critical care experience (surgical or trauma) and advanced certification (TCRN, CCRN, or CEN).
-Note: emergency department experience will not serve as a replacement for critical care experience, but will be considered for highly experienced emergency department nurses.
-Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
-Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to compact state requirements outlined by the Maryland Board of Nursing
